Community Well

In November of 2008, NICA began renovating the public well. It was completed January of 2009.

NICA renovated the well because during the rainy season every year the road located next to the well floods and contaminates the water in the well. Additionally, the old facility did not meet the needs of the community.

NICA built a wall around the well, built up the sides of the well, put in 20 clothes washing stations, 5 shower stalls, a river to divert flood waters, and a new area for the animals to drink.

Volunteers from the town, as well as NICA employees and those working under the IAP program all helped with the renovations.
