Individual Aid Program Campaign

Through NICA's IAP program, we are able to maintain El Transito clean.  This is a benefit to the community because a clean town evokes pride for all who live there.  It also keep disease and illness at bay.  Finally, it provides a better quality of life for all who live there.  NICA cleans El Transito under the IAP program, where eight groups are assigned an area within the town to clean.  They sign a contract with NICA to clean that assigned area three times a week for 2 hours each session.  They are paid in materials or benefits and never in cash.  From this program, many families ask for food, construction materials, and school materials for their children.  Several small houses have been built, many houses have been improved upon, and several kids attend school from earned uniforms and school supplies.

Please help us keep this program going.  Any donation will help.  Keeping El Transito clean is vital for tourism and the health of all who live there.  This program ensures both of these and allows residents to improve their own quality of life by working for their community.
