Baseball Field Inauguration 2011

NICA inaugurated the baseball field with the Mayor, Juan Gabriel Hernandez, and the town of El Transito on January 9, 2011.  

It was a successful event. The Mayor, local religious leaders, and the town's baseball teams all spoke. The main theme of the event was unity, coming together for a common goal. We are very proud that all the labor for the field came from El Transito, helping families from the community. We are hopeful that this stadium will be the beginning of a new chapter for El Transito, one of commerce development and tourism.

Anthony Digiandomenico was honored at the event. His generous donation made this project possible. Everyone in the town was honored to have Anthony there, and the Mayor even gave him the key to the city!! Vicente Padilla was there too. He threw the first pitch to Anthony to open the season. All in all, it was a grand day, one we are sure the residents of El Transito will never forget.
